Its a practical option for when youre using a motor intermittently or with frequent starts and stops. A star delta starter includes three efficient contacts, as well as a timer and a thermal overload to stop it from overheating. These types of motor starters control winding currents only. You can fit your starter motor with an overload for protection from electrical surges, but this one is supplied without. To match the full-load current of your motor, youll need to choose a compatible overload from the RF38 series (for example stock no. 685-1309). This product features a moulded plastic case thats sturdy enough to provide IP65 ingress protection, guaranteeing an effective seal against dust and high-pressure water jets from any direction.
