I've bought and returned several adapters because they all didn't solve my problem.
This one did the thing it was supposed to do.
Not happy because it was extremely expensive. But it DID solve the problem. I can now have 2 monitors plus my regular display on my macbook pro (m1 chip) that do not mirror each other. 3 different windows, 3 different screens. You'll have to download their app to make it work, but you'll only do it once and then the mac remembers your settings. Excellent!
