The effects of corrosion are significantly lower on concrete in particular than when road salt is used (freeze-thaw test by the University of Duisburg-Essen). The de-icing agent can also be used as a preventive measure : depending on the weather, its effect lasts for 2 to 3 days . Free of conventional road salt (NaCl) and other chlorides - causes no damage to parks and trees . Any potential eutrophication of water bodies is prevented as well, as the de-icing agent does not contain any nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen.
