A very popular choice with schools and councils due to its versatility, the Middlesbrough dual bin is split so one half collects litter and the other half collects a dedicated recycling waste stream. Alternatively, the unit can be configured to collect two recycling waste streams.

The bin is fabricated using 2mm galvanised steel with an 8mm galvanised steel base welded to the walls to create a very strong, rigid and durable waste container. The bin is powder coated in one of our standard colours or for an additional cost the bin can be powder coated in two colours to visually separate the waste streams. If you require the bin in two colours, please contact us for a quotation as this cannot be ordered through the website.
The bin has smooth surfaces as standard and each bin is supplied with a free vinyl word stating the waste stream to both the front and back of the bin. The option to upgrade to laser cut text is available and includes either a silver or gold backing plate to highlight the lettering. A key feature of this bin is the slam lock fitted as standard to the door. This is a stainless steel lock which is easily opened using a square T key and closes with a push of the door against a spring loaded boss. The door has full 90 degrees opening and makes the removal and emptying of the liner much easier. The hinge system is a full length pivoted steel rod and is very reliable even after thousands of openings.
The bin is supplied with a pre-drilled base that allows it to be securely fixed to the ground using RAWL bolts. Alternatively ground anchor feet are available which allow you to site the bin in freshly laid concrete. The feet bolt to the bottom of the bin and once the bin is in place and the concrete has cured, the bin is securely held in place.
A wide range of optional extras including ashtrays and peaked lids are available to customise the bin to your exact requirements.
Three different lid choices are available for this bin. The standard lid has a slightly kinked raised lid to allow rainwater to run off. The optional slightly peaked lid is 65mm high and the high peaked lid is 120mm high. Both of these lids have been designed with the aim of discouraging anti-social behaviour by not allowing people to sit on top of the bin or place rubbish on it.
A choice of two optional ashtrays are available and these are factory fitted and available in either a gold or silver powder coated finish. The circular Easyfit ashtray features a spring loaded butterfly bottom for quick emptying in to the liner below. The standard ashtray top features a recessed drop area for cigarette and cigar butts.
A stainless steel stubber plate can added to the lid of the bin and is aimed at encouraging smokers to use it, instead of the bin, to stub out their cigarettes. The stubber plat can be specified with either ashtray option.
