The Maelor Trafflex is used throughout the United Kingdom and is a popular choice with councils as it is the toughest plastic litter bin on the market.
The Maelor Trafflex is the only plastic litter bin in the UK that features an inner steel reinforcing frame designed to prevent the bin from being moved or tipped over by vandals. This galvanised inner frame can be bolted either to the ground or to a pre-drilled concrete base.
A galvanised steel liner sits directly onto the frame base plates and the lightweight plastic body simply lifts off over the top of the frame. The body is held in place by two locking mechanisms positioned on the outer body. When the body is aligned with the locks, the locking pin engages with the hole and the lock is closed using the plunger. The key is only required for opening the lock.
An advantage of this construction method is that if the bins outer body is severely damaged, only a new lightweight body is required instead of replacing the whole bin.
