This thermal sensor is designed to measure gas flow rates. Two platinum resistance elements are mounted on a single chip, one for heating and the other for measuring a reference temperature. The sensor uses a measure of the supply voltage to calculate the heat loss of the heating element due to the gaseous flow rate over the sensor.
