These type of SMA (subminiature version A) connectors are suitable for a wide range of RF applications, including WiFi equipment, mobile telephone antennas and microwave systems. SMA connectors have an impedance of 50 Ω. This specific connector has an operating frequency of 12.4 GHz and can be crimped onto RG58A cables, such as those used for WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) antennas. The connector has a durable gold-plated brass body and centre contact for vibration resistance and a red silicone gasket. Its hexagonal design makes it easy to tighten and loosen.
